ADHD/Mood Assessments

Children & Adults

An ADHD and mood assessment is a structured psychological evaluation designed to better understand patterns related to attention, concentration, impulse control, emotional regulation, and overall mood functioning. These assessments use formal standardized tools to explore areas such as focus, organization, restlessness, motivation, memory, and the presence of symptoms related to conditions such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, depression, or anxiety. The assessment helps identify whether these patterns are affecting daily functioning at home, work, school, or in relationships.

People may seek an ADHD and mood assessment when they experience ongoing challenges with attention, task completion, emotional ups and downs, low mood, anxiety, or difficulties with energy and motivation. The information gathered can help clarify whether ADHD, mood concerns, or a combination of factors may be contributing to these experiences and can guide recommendations for treatment, supports, and next steps.

If appropriate, this kind of assessment will provide a diagnosis, targeted recommendations and access to academic supports, appropriate psychological care, and additional resources to improve the quality of life and ability to function.

Behaviour/ Mood

Help In MB offers standardized ADHD/Mood psychological assessments available for youth and adults.  Assessments are aimed to better understanding why a behaviour or difficulty is happening and how to move forward.  All assessments are completed by a Registered Psychologist and come with a debrief of the results and targeted recommendations to support a healthy and successful way forward.

There are many reasons people pursue a formal assessment: to gain a clearer understanding of their symptoms, receive targeted recommendations for managing them, or to access supports such as the Disability Tax Credit or school accommodations. Sometimes the goal is simply to confirm or rule out a long-standing suspicion, and in others, parents who also recognize aspects of themselves in their children who have been diagnosed
